A Closer Look at Your Eye Health
Regular eye exams are essential for maintaining clear vision and detecting potential issues before they become serious. Our diagnostic technology allows us to assess not only your prescription but also the overall health of your eyes.
Whether you’re coming in for a routine check-up or have specific concerns, our technology helps us provide thorough, personalized care.

Retinal Imaging with Optos
Our Optos California RGB allows us to capture ultra-widefield images of the retina, often in just seconds. This technology helps us screen for retinal conditions like diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and retinal detachments—often before symptoms appear.
Optos produces ultra-widefield Optomap images of approximately 82% or 200° of the retina, something no other device is capable of doing in a single capture.
Studies show this fast, easy, patient-friendly technology is changing the management of diseases, including diabetic retinopathy, AMD, glaucoma, retinal vascular diseases, dystrophy, degenerations, and inflammatory disorders.
Measuring Eye Pressure
Checking your eye pressure is a key part of glaucoma screening, as high pressure can indicate a risk of vision loss. We use iCare and Goldmann tonometry to measure intraocular pressure (IOP) with accuracy and comfort.
- iCare tonometry offers a gentle, no-air-puff experience that’s ideal for those who find traditional methods uncomfortable.
- Goldmann tonometry, the gold standard for IOP measurement, provides highly precise results for monitoring changes over time.
Detailed Retinal Scans with OCT
The OCT Maestro 2 is a modern imaging tool that provides cross-sectional scans of the retina, giving us a deeper view of its layers. This high-resolution 3D imaging is essential for detecting and managing conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease—sometimes before symptoms even start.
Because the scan is quick, painless, and highly detailed, it allows for early diagnosis and personalized treatment planning, helping us safeguard your sight.
Visual Testing with Humphrey Visual Field
Your visual field refers to how much you can see in your peripheral (side) vision as well as straight ahead. Using the Humphrey Visual Field Analyzer, we can check for blind spots or vision loss caused by conditions such as glaucoma, stroke, or optic nerve diseases.
If you’re experiencing frequent headaches or migraines, a visual field test can offer valuable insight. During this test, you’ll look at a central point while responding to lights that appear in various parts of your vision. This allows us to detect subtle changes that may point to pressure on the optic nerve or other neurological concerns. In some cases, visual field loss can be an early sign of serious conditions like brain tumours.
Early testing helps us identify patterns, monitor changes, and refer you for further care if needed, protecting both your vision and overall health.
